If you’ve been following me for any length of time, you know that I usually sign my emails and blog posts with the term ‘Expect Abundance’. This is a practice of mine… expecting abundance to show up in my life on a daily basis, and always expressing gratitude for everything. I know that every day is a gift, and life is good (even when it’s challenging!).
I also know that if we go through our lives expecting miracles (and abundance), we will start to notice them happening daily.
Last night when I was running in the mountains, I came to a place where, all of a sudden, I was completely surrounded by butterflies. Hundreds of them. I stopped running and they surrounded me and some landed on me. It was truly breathtaking.
This experience was a great reminder of the abundance and the miracles that are all around us, all of the time.
I know that we, as human beings, tend to place false limitations on ourselves. We are actually limitless beings, but we go through our lives acting as if we are limited in so many ways. We have so much potential… we have just as much potential as a bloomimg flower or the ever-growing grass in the summertime, yet we squelch our potential so much of the time and tend to live inside our self-created limitations.
We love to stay in our comfort zones… and, actually, being in this place doesn’t serve us. We are meant to grow and thrive, and we simply cannot do that as long as we remain ‘comfortable’ all of the time.
The only way we can truly thrive and continue to grow and unleash more and more of our potential, is when we continuously let go of the things in our lives that no longer serve us on this journey so that we can make room for what’s next on our exciting path.
What are you holding on to that no longer serves you? In which areas of your life are you hanging out in your comfort zone and literally sitting back and watching the days go by?
I highly recommend stepping out of your comfort zone and ‘throwing your hat over the fence’ from time to time. It not only keeps life really exciting, but it allows you to live into your full potential and tap into the abundance that is your birthright. I notice that every single time I take a big risk that involves personal growth and I ‘throw my hat over the wall’, I am always rewarded for it. It always causes my life to become fuller, richer, and more fulfilling.
Sometimes I literally wonder why we are so afraid to grow and take risks when I know, from personal experience, how great life can be when we do.
