Thanksgiving 2012 | My Gratitude Message and Some of the Things I’m Grateful For 🙂
Gratitude is a practice that I undertake on a daily basis. It’s also something that I’ve worked hard to instill in my children. I’ve found that, no matter what the situation may bring, we can always come back to gratitude and simply focus on what we are grateful for.
Here’s a recent example from one of my daughters that made me realize that my teachings are sinking in. This made me SO proud!
A Shining Example of Gratitude (From a 7-Year-Old)
A few months ago, we were notified by our landlord that we would need to move, as she was needing to move back into her house. This was a house that we absolutely ADORED… in the most amazing neighborhood ever, with the most amazing neighbors, within walking distance to the school, etc. The news came as a shock and, at first,  we were so sad.
Once the initial shock wore off, my 7-year-old daughter, Olivia said,
“We can just be grateful that we got to live in this house, and that we made so many good friends since we moved here.”
We sat in “gratitude”… and I was so proud of my little girl for remembering to shift the thinking at a time when we could have just as easily remained sad.
Gratitude is Powerful
Gratitude is a powerful emotion. When we focus on gratitude and what we’re grateful for, the Universe automatically delivers more to be grateful for. I truly believe this.
Gratitude is a practice that I take on on a daily basis (and I highly recommend this). And, each year at Thanksgiving I like to make a list of some of the things I’m grateful for.
This is always a partial list, of course, because it would probably take me a lifetime to compose a list of everything I’m grateful for.
Each year at Thanksgiving time, I also like to look back at some of my gratitude lists from prior years, just to see how much has changed.
When I looked back over my gratitude list from last year (2011), I was amazed. So much has transpired over the last year… it’s actually pretty amazing how much can happen in such a short period of time. See last year’s gratitude list here.
So now it’s Thanksgiving 2012, and it’s time to write this year’s gratitude message and list.

My Gratitude List
Here’s a list of some of the things I’m grateful for this Thanksgiving:
This one pretty much shows up every year… I believe that if I’m not growing as a person, I’m not living my life to the fullest. I love to get out of my comfort zone and I have saying that I tend to live by:
“Where there’s fear, go there.”
I am grateful for all of the personal growth that has happened in my life over the last year… and for all of the fear I have walked through.
I am grateful for my rapid heart beat, sweaty palms, and flushed skin that occurs when I step out of my comfort zone and reminds me that I am truly alive.
2) The Empower Network
1 year ago, I joined the Empower Network, and this was a decision that has changed my life, for the better, in so many ways. I am grateful for the community and the friends I have made here, and for the financial freedom and time freedom that this business has provided in my life and my daughters’ lives. I am also extremely grateful for the personal growth that has happened for me as a result of my decision to join the Empower Network and to plug into the training that is provided here.
I am grateful for David Wood and David Sharpe for creating this amazing platform, and I can only hope that I can make the kind of difference for someone in my lifetime that these 2 men have made for me.
3) Time Freedom
Time freedom is certainly not something I take for granted… it is something that I am grateful every single day for. Thanks to my year-old business with the Empower Network, I have even more time freedom than I had before… it is a true blessing to be able to spend time with my daughters and to never miss a beat in their lives. I have enormous gratitude for time freedom.
4) Free Enterprise
I am also grateful every day for the opportunities that we have access to, and the fact that I get to live the life of an entrepreneur. I’m grateful that I never have to punch a time clock or set an alarm clock. I am grateful that I have complete control over when and how much I work, and how much money I make. I am grateful that, because I am an entrepreneur, I get to take vacations whenever I want and never have to ask anyone for permission.
5) Health
Not a day goes by that I don’t stand in gratitude for my health and my family’s health. It is because I am healthy that I get to enjoy an active lifestyle and to experience things such as crossfit, yoga, hiking, and running on the beautiful trails of Colorado (and running on beaches when I’m on vacation). Today I am extremely grateful for our health.
5) Love
Each and every day, I like to be present and to stay present to love. I am aware of how much I love people, and I receive the love that is given to me. Love is all there is… and for this I am grateful.
6) Laughter
Hearing my children laugh is probably my favorite sound of all. Hearing myself and others laugh is pretty awesome, too. Laughter is a good thing… I am so grateful that life gives us so many reasons to laugh. 🙂
7) Our New Home
We recently moved into a new home and the first thing I do every single morning when I wake up is say ‘Thank You’ and express appreciation for the opportunity to live in such a beautiful home. This is literally a dream come true for me and my daughters.
8) The Internet
It’s almost hard to remember what life was like before we had access to the internet. I LOVE the internet. It’s because of the internet that I’m able to work from home and create an abundant lifestyle for my family. I am so extremely grateful for the internet, and technology in general. It’s a good thing.
I have always felt blessed to have the kind of friends I have in my life. And, over the past year, I have aquired a whole bunch of new friends and relationships that are true blessings in my life. In the last year, I have literally made some of the best friends I’ve ever had (you know who you are). 🙂 I have so much gratitude for all of my friendships, old and new. My life wouldn’t be the same without them.
10) Family
I feel grateful for my family every day. My 2 daughters, Olivia and Ava, are the biggest blessings I have ever received in my 44 years of life. I cannot imagine my life without them in it… they are what lights me up and what motivares me to be the best I can be every single day. I love being their mother, above all else.
I am grateful for my brother, my sister, my father, and all of my other family members (those that are here and those who have passed). It is because of all of you that I have become who I am today. Thanks for your love and support… even when you don’t quite understand me. 🙂
11) Making a Difference (and You)
I am grateful for you. It is because of you (yes, you!) that I get to make a difference on the planet each day. Thank you for hanging around and listening to my voice. It is my honor and privelege to be able to serve you in whatever ways I can.
Thank you so much for your messages, your cards, and your comments. I love reading every single one of them… they are reminders for me that I am in the right place at the right time, making the biggest difference that I can possibly make. Please keep sending your feedback so that I can consistently improve to be able to make an even bigger difference, for you and in the world.
You make a difference for me, too. I am so grateful for you.
I could go on and on about things I’m gratfeul for… but I think it;s best if I end here for today. You get the picture. 🙂
I would love to hear about some of the things you are grateful for this Thanksgiving 2012… please leave your gratitude list in the comments below.
And have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
I love you!
