Leaving a Legacy | In Loving Memory of Zig Ziglar
Since the beginning of my jouney in personal development, one of my biggest inspirations and mentors has been Zig Ziglar.
Since the very first time I was introduced to Zig Ziglar, one of my mottos has been:
“If you can dream it, then you can achieve it. You will get all you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want.” ~ Zig Ziglar
This is one of my favorite Zig Ziglar quotes, and I have spent many years living by these words. They are true, by the way… I have learned from personal experience. 🙂
This video is my personal tribute to Zig Ziglar:
Last Time I Saw Zig Ziglar
I feel so honored and privileged to have had the honor of seeing Zig Ziglar live.
When I saw him speak a couple of years ago (at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado), I had a feeling it was going to be his last tour. This made me sad, but I was also blown away by his persistence and desire to continue to make a difference for people.
During his talk, Zig’s daughter shared the stage with him. The reason for this was that he was having trouble finishing sentences… as he would sometimes forget what he was talking about and his daughter was there to remind him and help him get going again. It was a powerful demonstration of teamwork, and it just cemented my already strong feeling about what a true inspiration Zig Ziglar was.
“People often say motivation doesn’t last. Neither does bathing—that’s why we recommend it daily.” ~ Zig Ziglar
I literally cried through most of his talk. I think it was because, not only was I moved to tears by his message, but I was really present to the legacy that this incredible man would leave on the planet. And he has.
The Legacy of Zig Ziglar
Zig Ziglar died today at age 86. And, although he’s no longer on the planet today, there are millions of people, myself included, who have been forever changed by his leadership, his wisdom, and his incredible insight and ispiratation. He has left an enormous legacy.
I will miss you deeply, Mr. Zig Ziglar (I have tears streaming down my face as I write this).
I have learned a ton from Zig Ziglar, and many of the lessons I’ve learned from him have changed my life and my business forver. And I know I’m not the only one.
The Biggest Thing That Zig Ziglar Has Taught Me
The biggest thing I’ve learned from Zig Ziglar is that one human being has the potential to impact the planet in a huge way. He proved it to me… and I can only hope to be able to make the kind of difference for others that Zig Ziglar has made for me.
Zig Ziglar has demonstrated the true meaning of “leaving a legacy”, and he will be missed. I’m just glad I had the chance to walk the earth with him while he was here.
“If you go looking for a friend, you’re going to find they’re scarce. If you go out to be a friend, you’ll find them everywhere.” ~ Zig Ziglar
I cannot thank you enough, Zig Ziglar. Thank you for leaving a legacy.
