I know, I know… I’ve been basically MIA for a couple of weeks. I am so sorry… I’ve been really busy chasing my dreams…
I’ve been extremely preoccupied while I’ve been moving myself and my kids into our dream neighborhood. ๐
Let me get you caught up…
My older daughter, Olivia, started kindergarten in August 2010.รย Boulder has phenomenal public schools… and they allow you to open enroll your kids into any school you want them to go to, even if you don’t live nearby (there’s an application process and you don’t always get in to the school you want because it’s very competitive… but it’s done on a lottery system, so it’s worth a shot).
I went to a TON of open houses for schools in search of the perfect school for my daughter… and I found it. It’s called Mesa Elementary and it’s located in my ideal neighborhood… nestled right up against the Flatirons in my favorite part of Boulder. I decided to apply, figuring ifรย Olivia was to get in, that would be the first step in manefesting our move into the school neighborhood (my dream neighborhood).
We got in! I was thrilled. And, now that the school year is more than halfway over, I honestly couldn’t be happier with the school, the community, the new friends we’ve made, etc. We LOVE it.
And, up until now, we’ve been commuting from approximately 7 miles outside of town (twice a day).
That just changed last week as we moved into the neighborhood, just a few blocks from the school (walking distance!), and are now surrounded by all of our new friends (as well as lots of our old friends).
It’s literally a dream come true.
For the last year (since open enrollment began last February), all I’ve been thinking about is Mesa Elementary and being able to live in this neighborhood. And now, 1 year later, here I am.รย
รย
And I have to say that everything just kind of unfolded perfectly… must have been because I was putting so much of my attention and focus on it.
So now as I sit here in my new home (where many of the rooms resemble pictures on my dream board!), I’m in awe and enormous gratitude. I shouldn’t say I’m surprised because I know how the laws of the universe work… I’ll just say it feels really good to be able to look back at the unravelling of it all and to know that when we chase our dreams and truly follow our heart, it really does lead us into extraordinary places.
Here’s a video about all of this with a glimpse intoรย our new home. ๐
I never could have predicted all of this… but I sure did spend a lot of time envisioning it. ๐
And I’m really excited to see what’s going to happen this year… I definitely have some big dreams and I’ll be chasing them…
What are your dreams? Where do you want to be in a year from now?
