2012: A Perfect Start to the New Year – Thank You MLSP!

featured member MLSP Featured Member: Amy Starr AllenI had the perfect start to the New Year…

As you probably know by now, I’m extremely passionate about MLSP (My Lead System Pro). I got to start my new year out getting recognized as the MLSP Featured Member! Yay!

You can read my story on the MLSP site here.

New Year Pajama Day

I woke up on New Year’s morning, tired from the night before, and getting ready to celebrate ‘pajama day’ at our house with my kids. We had been going non-stop all week and decided late on New Year’s eve that we would all stay in our pajamas all day on New Year’s Day.

We woke up on New Year’s morning, cranked up some tunes, made some pancakes and were getting ready to create our dream boards (AKA vision boards) for the new year – 2012.

I decided to check my email briefly before we started…

There are literally no words to describe the feeling I had in my stomach when I saw an email from Roxana Hannah from MLSP. Here’s what it said:

I’ll be sending out the email blast in about 30 mins directing tens of thousands of people to this post on our blog this morning. Happy New Year and congratulations. 😉 You made it happen.

All the best,
Roxana

It was followed by another email from MLSP… the one that gets sent out to all of the members. It looked like this:

I decided to document all of this because I’ve been working really hard on my vision and my goals for 2012, and I’m committed to accomplishing big things this year. Bigger, by far, than anything I’ve ever accomplished before, on many levels.

This is going to be my year… I have big plans and a detailed roadmap to help me hit my goals in 2012.

I know I have many skeptics out there who don’t think it can be done… that don’t think that a busy single mom like myself can accomplish enormous feats in life.

I’m here to tell you that I know for a fact that we’re all capable of achieving anything that we set our minds to. We can literally accomplish anything that we truly commit to AND believe we can achieve.

I’m living proof. When I think back over the past year and look at the things I’ve accomplished in just 1 year’s time, I’m amazed by what’s possible.

If I can accomplish what I have over the past year, I know that anybody can accomplish anything that they’re truly committed to.

Here’s the other thing…

Many people think that because I’m a single mom (of a 6-year-old and a 3-year-old), it makes it harder for me to acheive great success because my hands are so full and my time is so limited.

I feel the opposite. My kids what drives me.

I have a really big ‘Why’ and it’s all about providing an extraordinary life for my kids. I refuse to settle for mediocrity… and I’m not sure if that would be the case if it weren’t for my immense commitment to my children.

  • I’m  committed to being a great role model for my kids. I love that I get to lead by example and show them what’s possible in life.
  • I love that they aren’t being raised thinking that they have to get good grades so that they can get a good job later in life working for someone else. That’s certainly not the example that’s being set in our household.
  • I love that I never have to miss a beat in their lives… that I get to volunteer in the classroom, attend school functions, and even show up and eat lunch in the cafeteria with my daughter if I feel like it. I can’t even imagine having it any other way.

And, although it’s not always easy being an entrepreneur, the bumps in the road and the challenges are all completely worth it when emails like the one from Roxana (above) show up in my inbox along the way.

2011: Our Year in Review

I have an annual tradition of creating a ‘Year in Review’ video to recap the year that’s just gone by. I mostly do it for my children, so that when they grow up they will have a collection of videos from each year of their lives together (and it’s awesome because you can literally see them grow right before your eyes in the videos).

So, if you’d like a little glimpse into my personal life, you can check out our Year in Review for 2011 here:

Here’s wishing you all of the things your heart desires in the New Year.

I wish you a new year full of peace, joy, prosperity, and an overflowing abundance of love.

Please share what you’re committed to creating for yourself in the New Year…

To our success together in 2012,
